After the incredible journey of hosting the Beautiful Bugs Blanket CAL last year, I couldn’t resist diving into another exciting crochet adventure with all of you. This time, I (along with ten fabulous designer friends) have designed something extra special – a slightly slower-paced CAL, perfect for those with busy schedules or who just want to enjoy a more relaxed crafting experience.

With one new section released each month, you’ll have plenty of time to savor every stitch without the pressure of keeping up. And the best part? By December, you’ll have a gorgeous blanket ready just in time for Christmas! (Though I’ll be honest – this beauty will be staying on my sofa. It’s far too fabulous to gift! 😉).

Curious to know more about the design, how it works, and how you can join in the fun? Keep reading – this is a CAL you won’t want to miss!

What is a CAL?

A CAL, or Crochet Along, is a fabulous community event where crocheters across the globe work on the same pattern simultaneously. It unfolds in stages, providing the perfect opportunity to share your progress and inspire fellow crafters.

How will this CAL work?

I’d love to see your progress as you bring your Months of the Year Blanket to life! Join the community in the Elimee Designs Facebook Group, where you can share photos, ask questions, and celebrate each section with fellow crocheters. Prefer to post on your personal social media? Use the hashtag #MonthsOfTheYearBlanket to showcase your work, connect with others in the CAL, and maybe even inspire someone else to join the fun!

Blanket Border

In classical fashion, I opted to use an evelope border for this design – why weave in ends if you can avoid it, right?! A full video tutorial for the envelope border can be found here.
